This Level 1 qualification in Animal Care is ideal for students who are passionate about animals and want to learn more about how to care for them. You will develop your skills in areas such as preparing food and housing, grooming and health checking, as well as how to properly restrain animals. You will also cover some personal and social development, including working safely, working as a team and how to prepare for an interview.
The subjects covered include:
4 GCSEs at grade E / 2 or above (or acceptable alternatives) including English Language and Science.

Students who achieve the Level 1 Diploma should be able to progress onto the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care.

For some of the visits you will be asked to contribute towards the cost of the entrance fee and travel, which you will be able to pay in instalments throughout the year. You may need to purchase some overalls. You will also need a pair of wellington or steel toe-capped boots. You are advised to obtain a USB memory stick (minimum
