Designed to give people the knowledge and skills to study computing or IT at a higher level, this course provides an introduction to the various disciplines within the computing faculty. You'll study software development, web skills and computer systems, as well as having the opportunity to study Maths to A-level standard.

Many students go on to study Computing at a local university, however students have gone further afield.

All applicants for the course are interviewed to discuss whether the course is suitable for them. One of the main things you need to consider if you want to do this course is whether you are going to be able to put in the considerable commitment in terms of time. As well as attending on two or three days a week you will also need to spend about ten hours a week in private study.
If you do not have a computer with an internet connection at home you will need to plan to spend at least two additional days in the Learning Resource Centre at college.
