This course focuses on the practical development and application of knowledge and skills required by anyone wishing to pursue a career in architecture, interior design or product design. The programme is designed to help you to discover and develop your talents, interests and strengths within the spectrum of 3-dimensional design. You will work on live, industry standard briefs and exhibit your work in a final show so that you are prepared for work in industry. You will also take part in trips and visits to local galleries and museums.
You will work on a series of project briefs that are dynamic and responsive to current design trends, in order to help prepare you for employment in the industry or further specialised study.
5 GCSEs grades A*-C / grade 4 or above (or acceptable alternatives), including English Language and an art or textiles-related subject, or portfolio of artwork.
Continual assessment of coursework including practical, theoretical and written project work. You will need to present your work at times to tutors and your peers. You must successfully pass each unit in order to progress and achieve the full extended diploma.

Students are required to provide their own basic equipment and will be required to purchase a specialist kit of meterials and equipment. You will also be expected to pay a studio fee of approximately £50 towards the cost of materials provided by the college.
