5 tips for deciding where to take your further study

Start to explore your options early
Although we know it’s easier said than done, with so much choice and so much to think about, it’s good to have an idea about what your ideal career path would be, so that you know which route to take when considering further study. We offer an exciting range of vocational and academic qualifications including A Levels and Apprenticeships, to enable you to go further in education, training and employment and your career.

You may not know what you want to do yet – and that’s okay! You can visit one of our Open Days where we can help you to identify and achieve your goals as well as the qualification and level that’s best for you.
 

Visit our Open Days
At our Open Days, you can come and see what we have to offer for yourself! At our November event, you’ll be able to:

  • meet the people who will be teaching you

  • tour our fantastic facilities and see where you’ll be learning

  • find out more about how to travel to our campuses, including our excellent bus, tram and rail links

  • speak to our job experts about careers you’re interested in and what you need to do to get there

  • take part in interactive taster sessions

  • explore our sports teams, clubs, societies and enrichment offer

To book your place at our next Open Day on Wednesday 24th November, 4-7pm, click here. From February 2022 you can visit a sector-specific Open Day, where we’ll help you plan your route into the career you want.

If you’re unsure of your next steps upon leaving school, don’t worry! Our Careers Advice Team are on hand to provide you with free and informed impartial careers information, guidance and advice so that you can take your next steps with confidence.

Look into our student support options which may be available to you
We want your experience to be as enjoyable as possible. During your time with us you shouldn’t have to worry about much other than concentrating on having a great time and doing well on your course! That’s why we have a fantastic Student Support Team, who are always on hand to help you with any questions, concerns, or problems that you might face whilst at college.
