Kat achieves a top set of A Level grades

Kat Padmore is celebrating after securing a top set of A Level grades.

Kat, aged 19, has achieved a grade A* in English literature, a grade A in film studies and a grade B in media studies. Now she is going on to study a Degree in Filmmaking at the University of Leeds.

Kat said: “I feel so relieved that all of the hard work has finally paid off. Studying at The Sheffield College has been the best educational experience of my life.”

She added: “I’ve really enjoyed my subjects, the teachers are great and I’ve had so much fun. The SEND team has been incredible – I couldn't have done it without them.”

Lewis gets ready for news media industry career

Lewis Robinson is looking forward to breaking into the media industry as he gets ready to progress on to university.

Lewis, aged 18, achieved a grade B in media studies and two grade Cs in English language and sociology. Now he is going on to study a Degree in Journalism and Multi Media at the University of Salford’s Media City UK.

He said: “Overall I’m really pleased with my results. Coming to the College has really opened up different ways of learning.”

Phoenix gets set for a business career

Phoenix Dolan has decided to stay local when she goes on to higher education. Phoenix, aged 18, has gained a grade B in English language, a grade C in film studies and a grade C in history.

Now she is going on to study a Degree in Marketing Communications and Advertising at Sheffield Hallam University.

Phoenix said: “I’m happy and relieved with my results. I’ve enjoyed the atmosphere at the College as it is less rigid than being at school. All my friends are staying in Sheffield and so I wanted to go to university locally.”

Kyra has sights set on criminology career

Kyra Day is looking forward to studying criminology as she gets ready for the next stage of her career journey.

Kyra, aged 18, has gained a grade B in media studies, a grade C in sociology and a grade D in psychology. Now she is going on to study a Degree in Criminology and Sociology at the University of Huddersfield.

Kyra said: “I’ve had a good time at the College. I’ve really enjoyed my studies, had fun and made lots of good friends along the way.”

Josh secures university place to study geography

Josh Nolan has secured a place to study a Degree in Geography at Sheffield Hallam University.

Josh, aged 18, has achieved a grade C in geography, a grade D in the extended project qualification and a grade E in business. He said: “I feel relieved to know my grades. Geography was my favourite subject at the College so that’s why I’ve chosen it for a degree.”

Yasmin to study the classics at the University of Manchester        

Yasmin Abbas is going on to study a Degree in the Classics at the University of Manchester.

Yasmin, aged 19, achieved a grade A in geography, a grade B in English literature and a grade C in history.

She said: “Attending the College has helped me mature into a well-rounded individual and inspired me to pursue paths that are catered to my interests and skills.

“I've learnt a great deal from both my lectures and my classmates. Every class was full of new and interesting information that helped me broaden my knowledge.”
