Jo Biddle is one of 23 finalists in the Floristry Tutor of the Year category of the British Florist Association Industry Awards.
The Sheffield College has also been shortlisted in the Floristry Training Provider of the Year category.
Jo said: “It is a great honour to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. It’s always rewarding to train such wonderful students and help them go further from Level 2 junior florists to the outstanding and inspiring Level 3 florists that they become.”
She added: “This award is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the team here at The Sheffield College, the apprentice florists and their employers who support, develop and champion these young people in the workplace.”
Jo has a strong track record in the industry having successfully run her own floristry business for 10 years before moving into teaching and developing the floristry apprenticeship programme at the College.
Jo trains floristry apprentices at the College’s Hillsborough campus on Livesey Street. She ensures they have the opportunity to develop their design skills at high profile events including RHS Chatsworth Flower Show and WorldSkills UK regional competitions.
