This study programme is designed to help you build the knowledge, skills needed when working with children and young people in a school setting. The course is aimed at mature students (aged 19 and over) who want to work in a supervised capacity across any aspect of education with children and young people aged from 5 to 19.
There are three knowledge based units
This programme has no formal entry requirements, however experience of working with children or young people in some capacity will help you gain the most from the course.
The 'knowledge' aspect will be delivered and assessed using digital platforms, software, discussions, presentations and shared active learning in college classwork sessions.
Students who successfully complete this qualification may progress to a Level 2 Certificate or straight into employment.
This qualification may enable students to gain employment in the education sector across a wide range of support roles.
The full cost for this course is approximately £282. If you are unemployed and in receipt of benefit or earning below the low wage threshold, the course is fully funded. If you are 19-23 you must have already achieved a full level 2 to qualify for the funding above. If you do not meet the criteria listed above, you will have to pay 50% of the fee.
