This qualification aims to provide a detailed understanding of the concepts of health and well-being, including basic anatomy and physiology. The course provides the knowledge on the role of nutrition in exercise, including energy requirements and fluid replacement, and then learn about how to measure personal fitness levels and create a personal programme of exercise and nutrition. Please note: It is a requirement to complete a fitness test as part of this course (e.g. a timed walk). If it is not possible to complete the test or log anything in the exercise plan such as stretches, walking, a physio plan etc), a pass cannot be given.
There are no specific qualifications required to enrol on this qualification. Acceptance onto the qualification is based on a phone or online interview with the Tutor. Learners must be aged 19 years or over.

Students can progress onto courses such as Level 3 Sport or Level 3 Personal Trainer.
From this course, students could achieve careers such as Gym Instructor, Nutritionist or Health Specialist.
This qualification is delivered online. These level 2 courses are free if you are a resident of South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (comprising of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield), as these qualifications can be fully-funded at no cost to you!
