About this Course

This T Level will develop a wide range of knowledge and skills to enable learners to practice safely and effectively in a variety of different healthcare settings, providing an excellent first step towards a highly rewarding career in this sector.

Key Units

In the first year, students will develop knowledge of the following areas:
  • The healthcare sector
  • Health, safety and environmental regulations 
  • Managing information and data
  • Managing personal information
  • Good scientific and clinical practice
  • Providing person-centered care
  • Health and well-being
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Safeguarding

In the second year, students will focus on:
  • Assisting the adult nursing team with clinical skills
  • Supporting individuals to meet activities of daily living
  • Assisting with the care and treatment of skin conditions

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs including English Language, Maths and Science at Grade 5.

Assessment

In year one (core component) assessment will be:
  • 2 written examinations
  • employer-set project (ESP)

In year two, assessment will be:
  • a case study
  • 2 practical activities assessments
  • a professional discussion

Where does this Lead

Students who successfully complete this qualification will be able to progress to university level study or higher level Apprenticeships.

Students will engage in high quality Industry Placements which will enable them to apply their learning in real life situations. These placements will provide learners with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for skilled employment in the health sector. 


To achieve the overall T Level qualification, students will be supported by an expert team of both college and industry professionals to complete a minimum of 315 hours in placement. 

You will also have the opportunity to practice your clinical skills in our brand new, industry-standard eight-bed hospital wing.
