Entry Requirements

Students are required to have:

A Level 5 qualification in an appropriate subject (such as a Foundation Degree or equivalent in Music or a closely associated subject)
English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above (or an equivalent qualification such as Level 2 Functional Skills)

Applicants will be interviewed, and should prepare for this together with an audition.

Assessment

Throughout the programme, assessment is through live briefs and real-work situations, wherever possible.

Students will generally produce evidence of practical application of theory, such as portfolio of composition or portfolio work, along with accompanying written work to assess knowledge and understanding.

Written work may include context, research, justification, reflection and/or evaluation.

The programme aims to provide students with a broad ranging study of the field of music and the opportunity to develop detailed specialist knowledge in music performance and production. With strong links to employers in the creative industries, and opportunities for extensive experience of performance, it develops specialist knowledge and skills, appropriate transferable skills, self-awareness and the capacity to engage in reflective practice.
