If science has always interested you but you couldn’t see a way into a scientific career, keep reading to see how our university level programmes may be able to get you there.
At UC Sheffield all of our courses have been designed with the intention of preparing you to achieve your dream career, whether that’s allowing you to enter straight into that role, or putting you another rung higher on your career ladder.
All of our STEM courses offer a mixture of theoretical study as well as practical learning, meaning not only are you developing your understanding of your chosen field but you’re also learning the skills required in the workplace and putting them into practice. A perfect example of this is our Foundation Degree in Dental Technology which covers units such as ‘Basic Dental Anatomy and Terminology’ in the first semester, before then progressing to the more hands-on unit ‘Dental Technology Techniques: Removable Prosthesis’ in semester 2.

Our course tutors are all industry experts, having had successful careers before deciding to teach the next generation of scientists. Also, it will be a surprise to no one that they don’t fit the Albert Einstein stereotype; once again proving that STEM industries aren’t the white male dominated fields, they are made out to be.
As your tutors, they will be able to impart their first-hand experiences onto you, provide valuable advice when it comes to making career decisions, and also share what employers are looking for in an applicant. All of this in addition to the support they will provide with your assignments and day to day learning.

All of our STEM programmes make use of our industry standard facilities, whether this is our dental laboratories based at our City Campus, our CAD suites over at our Olive Grove Campus, or any of our other first-class facilities.
Access to these facilities will provide you with the experience and knowledge that employers are looking for and will also prepare you to progress directly into the world of work with minimal disruption.

As the cost of living continue to increase, we want you to be able to focus on your studies without worrying about the financial implications. Our prices cost less than your traditional universities, in fact, our fees are £7,500 per year which is a saving of around £2,000 a year! Combine that with choosing to stay local and you’ll remove the cost of moving to study.
So, whether you’re looking to become the next big thing in science, or just want to be able to put your skills and knowledge to use, a university level course could really help propel your career.
Applications are open now via UCAS so click here to see our entire university level course offer.
