At The Sheffield College Open Days, you will get the chance to meet the people who will be teaching you and have a chat about what each course involves, so you can decide which study programme or Apprenticeship is right for you. You’ll also get the chance to view some examples of previous students’ work and take part in a load of interactive activities to get a feel for the subjects we offer.
You will also be able to pick up this year’s prospectus and sector guides. These include all of the key information you need to help make a decision about what to study.
A huge part of an Open Day is getting to explore where you will be learning. All our sites include state of the art facilities, modern and engaging learning environments and great communal areas to work and relax in before your next lesson. Some of our newest facilities include:
T Level Healthcare Training Suite
This new training facility at City Campus consists of a six-bed mock hospital ward with a reception and state-of-the-art patient mannequins, which allows our students to learn care procedures from taking blood pressure readings to injecting correctly.
Advanced Technology Centre
Following a £2.6 million cash injection, our new facilities at our Advanced Technology Centre (formerly Olive Grove Campus) are nearly ready to be unveiled. The upgrade includes the construction of a new two-storey building extension, which will include:
five motor vehicle bays including three ‘clean’ bays for electric /hybrid cars.
two motor vehicle body and paint bays.
ten welding bays.
five new classrooms.
enhancements to the learning resource centre and reception area.
additional digitally enabled quiet learning and student social spaces.
There’s more to college than just attending your classes. Our Student Support Teams are always available to help any of our students to access the support they need to succeed, whether this is support of a personal nature, financial, or even careers advice.
At The Sheffield College, we have a dedicated Careers Advice Service who are on hand to help you achieve your dream career by providing guidance and resources, as well as hosting careers events throughout the year.
At our upcoming Open Days these teams will be available to start these discussions and answer any questions that you may already have. In the meantime you can find out more about the support available here.
At The Sheffield College you will have the chance to be part of our very own Activities and Fitness Club, where you will have the opportunity to compete in a national league with other universities and FE colleges. Not looking to compete? That’s fine, our staff also host a number of recreational sessions, perfect for passing the time between or after classes.
As well as our sport clubs, there are also societies at the college for almost everything, from creative clubs, right through to chess. If we don’t have what you’re looking for, we can always help you set up your own!
Maps will be provided to inform you where each subject will be based in each campus and members of staff will be on hand to help point you in the right direction, ensuring you get the most out of your visit.
If you haven’t booked your place, please see someone at reception to get signed in. Once you have done so, feel free to explore any subjects that you are interested in and take a look at what The Sheffield college has to offer!
