The University of Sheffield Healthcare Employer Skills Academy provides students with the opportunity to develop their healthcare knowledge, professional skills and career aspirations through direct engagement with one of the UK's leading Russell Group universities. Based at our Hillsborough Campus, the academy combines classroom learning with higher education insight, helping students explore healthcare careers while preparing for progression to university, apprenticeships or employment within the sector. Through employer-led activities and specialist support, students gain a valuable understanding of both healthcare professions and university-level study.
About The University of Sheffield Healthcare Employer Skills Academy
The University of Sheffield Healthcare Employer Skills Academy has been designed to support students who are interested in pursuing careers within healthcare and related professions. Developed in partnership with the University of Sheffield, the academy provides students with opportunities to engage with healthcare specialists, academic experts and university staff who can help develop their understanding of the sector and the pathways available within it.
Throughout their studies, students take part in a programme of workshops, masterclasses and employability activities that complement their college studies and provide insight into healthcare practice. These experiences help students build confidence, develop professional behaviours and gain a greater understanding of the skills and attributes required within healthcare settings.
Students also benefit from learning in a dedicated employer-branded environment and engaging with activities that showcase both healthcare careers and university life. By exploring real-world healthcare topics and progression opportunities, students are better equipped to make informed decisions about their future and prepare for the next stage of their educational or professional journey.
