Accessibility Statement

The Sheffield College website has been designed with accessibility as a priority.

Web Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to the https://sheffcol.ac.uk website.

This website is run by The Sheffield College. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader
  • access content on a range of devices, including mobile phones and tablets

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

  • Some pages require horizontal scrolling on smaller screens
  • Some interactive components are too close together
  • Some text and images do not meet minimum contrast requirements
  • Some form fields are not labelled clearly or programmatically
  • Some documents (including PDFs) are not fully accessible or tagged for screen readers
  • Some controls do not show a clear focus state
  • Some navigation and component behaviours are inconsistent
  • Some content relies on drag-and-drop without an alternative input method
