The Greene King Catering and Hospitality Employer Skills Academy was launched in 2019. This academy is based at our City Campus and supports our Level 2 Culinary Skills students. The academy provides the college's catering and hospitality students with hands-on opportunities to develop specialist knowledge and skills within the catering and hospitality industry.
The Greene King Catering and Hospitality academy provides the opportunity for its academy students to take part in Greene King led masterclasses, workshops, site visits and placement opportunities to enhance their College studies. By providing these opportunities it allows all of the Greene King academy students to gain hands-on experience and learn from industry experts.
Taking place in the college kitchens, students will be exposed to all areas of the Greene King business with activities including:
As part of the programme, there is an opportunity for academy students to take part in an industry placement. This provides students with 315 hours of industry experience, in various aspects of the business, that they can then use for future applications. The students are selected on merit and will undergo further interviews in order to take part in this opportunity, potentially growing to paid work.
