Jack Daniels, Assistant Manager for Liberty Speciality Steels
Students of the Liberty Steel Female Engineering Academy were offered unique opportunities to engage with local employers from the engineering industry, in order to build on their knowledge and understanding of engineering in a practical setting. The staff from Liberty Steel and their supply chain, were committed to offering workshops to our students, that supported their college studies and enhanced their learner journey. The students had workplace visits to the Liberty Steel plant in Rotherham, as well as a trip to the Mondelez factory in Hillsborough, to experience different types of engineering practice.
As a part of their academy course, the students received a uniform from Liberty Steel, access to some online Liberty Steel training and free membership to the Institution of Engineering and Technology from The Sheffield College. This membership provided the students with hundreds of extras resources that were used to support their time on the course.
