Bloom: Support for our students

Why choose Bloom?

There are many reasons why Bloom may be the right choice for your young person. Our environment, curriculum, pastoral support and opportunities all work together to nurture well-being, belonging and long-term success.

Learning environment

Bloom students learn in safe, accessible and nurturing spaces at our Hillsborough and Peaks campuses. They are part of a wider college community and can access specialist facilities including:

  • sensory space
  • independent living suite
  • gym and active wellbeing spaces

Our goal is to promote confidence, exploration, healthy routines and rich, meaningful experiences.

Support

Every Bloom student is supported by our Inclusion and Learning Support Team, who:

  • lead the EHCP consultation and transition process
  • attend school annual reviews
  • co-design support plans with families and professionals
  • coordinate specialist input (e.g., NHS therapies)
  • ensure staff training is completed prior to transition

Pastoral support is outstanding and includes personal tutors, Student Advocates and a dedicated Head of Student Experience, ensuring every young person feels known, valued and supported to thrive.

Opportunities

Students at Bloom benefit from:

  • employer-led activities
  • fully supported work placements with local employers and job coaches
  • an enriched curriculum shaped by community partners
  • guest speakers and specialist workshops
  • trips, visits and cultural experiences
  • residential experiences to build independence, confidence and friendships

Our aim is to support every student to live a rich life, develop long-term aspirations and transition into adulthood with the skills, resilience and happiness they deserve.
