Why choose Bloom?

There are many reasons why a pathway at Bloom could be the right choice for a young person who may require a higher level of support. From our facilities to the support available, we ensure each student gets the best opportunities for their progression into adulthood.

Learning Environment

Every young person at Bloom will learn in a safe, accessible and nurturing environment at our Hillsborough or Peaks Campuses. There will be clear links to the wider college, as well as its services and partners. Students will also be able to make use of our specialist facilities, including a sensory space, independent living suite and gym.

Support

All students at Bloom will be supported by our dedicated onsite SEND support team, who will help with the transition from school, as well as any bespoke needs that arise throughout their studies. We pride ourselves on the pastoral support we offer and every student will be supported by a variety of key staff. These include personal tutors and Student Advocates, amongst others. We also have a dedicated Head of Student Experience to offer wrap-around support and enhance our students' time with us.

Opportunities

Studying at Bloom gives students the opportunity to receive a work placement which will be fully supported by local employers and dedicated job coaches. Students will take part in an enriched and varied curriculum, including a range of opportunities for additional learning through key educational and community partners. Recent activities and opportunities have included:

  • guest speakers who have come into college to engage with the students
  • trips and visits to a variety of locations
  • a residential to Edale where the students took part in a range of outdoor activities and team building exercises
