The college’s governing body has a duty to keep under review its provision in relation to local needs. To help meet that duty, in 2023, governing body commissioned KADA Research Ltd to conduct independent research into what the college provides and the extend to which it is meeting skills needs. As well as extensive desk research using the Local Skills Improvement Plan and emerging city and regional skills strategies, the review was informed by consultation with employers, civic, community and education partners. The final report informed the college’s Accountability Statement for 2023-24.
As an anchor institution in the region we are proud to serve the communities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, together known as the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), whilst we strive to enhance the qualifications, skills and employability of the region.
