You can only learn so much about how a business works and what makes it successful from a textbook. To be really confident in your knowledge and abilities you'll need some practical experience. Luckily, all of our business programmes will allow you to do just that!
Throughout your studies you will have the opportunity to engage directly with local businesses so that you can learn from their experience. Whether that's visiting the offices of Sheffield's finest businesses or participating in a guest lecture with a local entrepreneur, we know that getting that first hand experience is vital.
All of our full-time study programmes have a practical element, this might include working in a group to set up your own enterprise stall and selling your own items, or getting stuck into a project that mirrors a scenario faced by a real business.
Our Employer Skills Academies are a unique opportunity for ambitious students to engage with local employers and apply their academic knowledge to real-life business scenarios.
The City Taxis Business, Sales and Marketing Employer Skills Academy allows students to engage directly with one of the biggest taxi firms in South Yorkshire and benefit from their business expertise.
City Taxis is the UK's 3rd largest independent taxi provider operating a local taxi service in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Derby, Barnsley and Rotherham.
City Taxis Academy students will be provided with the opportunity to undertake their learning in a newly branded classroom, complete with an Instagram flower wall for students’ selfies, located at our City Campus. The students will be able to develop their employability skills by taking part in workshops, masterclasses, and industry experience days with representatives from City Taxis.
We know that having the right facilities can make all the difference to your learning, so we've invested heavily in getting you the equipment you'll need to run a successful business.
