This elite basketball course is a player development programme for learners aged between 16-19, which combines top-level basketball training and academic education. If you have a passion for basketball or have ambitions of going far in the game, this is the course for you.
This Foundation Degree - validated by Sheffield Hallam University - aims to develop subject knowledge and understanding of the concepts, processes and content of the National Curriculum for Physical Education (PE) in primary, secondary and further education. In undertaking this course, you will have the opportunity to inspire young people to get active and develop essential life skills through PE and school sport. This Foundation Degree will enable you to play a pivotal role in improving young people’s physical, social and emotional development. You will develop your personal and interpersonal qualities that prepare you to be a skillful practitioner in educational settings. You will also explore contemporary issues that influence the wider context of PE and school sport, putting you in the privileged position of being able to transform the lives of young people.

The Foundation Degree in Sport & Exercise Coaching course aims to develop understanding of academic theory in alignment with significant practical experience (with the option to complete additional coaching awards and courses alongside your full-time course) and coaching opportunities. The course also helps to develop study skills, knowledge, professional practice and specific industry skills gained through work based learning and voluntary opportunities to improve employability and awareness of the industry.
John Fewkes' Boxing Academy Programme, provides 16 - 19-year-olds with a comprehensive initiative combining elite boxing training and vocational education. The programme aims to develop both boxing and academic skills to provide a platform for current boxers to reach towards elite level whilst providing an opportunity to study towards vocational sport qualifications.
As part of the Elite Sports programme at the college, The Academy gives all students aged 16-19 the opportunity to undertake workshops with local sports clubs and engage with projects to develop their employability skills alongside their BTEC qualifications. The programme is a partnership between the college and the KW2 Academy. It is part of the college's wider Elite Sports Employer Skills Academy brand.
