GB Hair Employer Skills Academy
The GB Hair Employer Skills Academy was launched in 2023. This academy is based at our City Campus and supports all our students who are studying in the hairdressing department at the College. The academy allows all students to take part in a variety of employer-led activities to enhance their studies and support the transition into the world of work.
The GB Hair Team will support the Employer Skills Academy students by delivering a range of workshops, masterclasses and projects, with the potential to also attend local salons and apply for placement opportunities.
The academy is designed to enhanced students study programme and allow them to see what the hairdressing industry is like and what careers and opportunities are available in the industry so they can make an informed decision for their future.
The students will undertake their learning in a College salon, complete with industry equipment and resources.
The GB Hair Team are keen to support aspiring industry leaders, encouraging students to be the best that they can be in a competitive industry.

The Sheffield College
The Great Britain Hairdressing team is a ‘not-for-profit’ association run for the benefit of its members.
They are the official governing body of OMC competitive hairdressing in Great Britain and are responsible for the governing, organisation, and delivery of skill-based training to assist in education and development of our members.
The GB Hair Team operates a structured training programme of artistic, creative, and technical training from entry level to more experienced hairdressers, barbers, and teachers. Their Associate, Affiliate, and Accredited programmes are delivered in Centres of Excellence colleges and Capital Hair & Beauty stores nationwide.
The OMC stands for the ‘Organisation Mondiale Coiffure’ and is the official governing and regulatory body for the World and European Hairdressing Championships.
