The Yorkshire Film and TV Employer Skills Academy was launched in September 2021, in partnership with Screen Yorkshire and their Connected Campus initiative. This academy is based at our Hillsborough Campus and supports students from Level 3 to Level 6. The Yorkshire Film and TV Academy gives students studying courses in our Creative & Design area the opportunity to gain skills in their industry to prepare them for life in the Creative sector after College. Students from other areas of the College will also be able to work with Screen Yorkshire on a number of projects including TV Hair and Makeup.
All of The Yorkshire Film and TV Academy students can access a range of boot camps, masterclasses and special events, including visits to current sets and studios, industry workshops, visiting speakers and reviews of project pitches hosted by Screen Yorkshire and their partners.
By providing these students with an opportunity to seek industry expertise, they are set up to gain the skills and knowledge they need to break into the industry. Masterclasses can include:

Connected Campus is an initiative launched by Screen Yorkshire forging closer links between TV and Film professionals, production companies, broadcasters and the students trying to break into this competitive industry.
