FD Music Performance & Production Y1

Launch your creative career with hands-on training in performance and production at The Sheffield College. Study in professional studios and rehearsal spaces, learn from working musicians and producers, perform across Sheffield, and collaborate on live industry briefs. You’ll build a strong portfolio and gain real-world experience, including opportunities with our student-led commercial record label. FdA Performance in Practice (1)

In the first year you will explore acting techniques, voice and movement for actors, creating and developing characters and singing. You will explore different theatre practitioners and their approaches to performance and finish the year with a full-scale public performance to a paying audience. In the second year you will develop a deeper understanding of the craft of the actor through study and exploration of classical performance, musical theatre performance, and devising original performance. At the end of the second year, you will form the cast of a major production to be staged in a professional standard theatre.
