Studying Health and Social Care provides a vast amount of career options from nursing to physiotherapy, and is an incredibly rewarding sector to be in. We offer qualifications from T Levels to University Level Qualifications, and here are just a few reasons why you should study here at The Sheffield College if you want to go into Health and Social Care.

1. Health Suite and Department Facilities

Our state-of-the-art Health Suite at City Campus and hospital bed setup at Hillsborough Campus are both incredible facilities for anyone wanting to develop in healthcare. They provide hands-on opportunities for students to experience working within a hospital ward scenario. There are beds, training dummies, and all the appropriate equipment for students to learn the ropes of their profession.

2. Placement Opportunities

With employer partners such as Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Kickback Recovery, Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Recovery, our students have some excellent placement opportunities. We’ve had students take on placements in Phlebotomy, Neurology, Spinal Wards, and Outpatients, just to name a few.

3. Enrichment

Our Health and Social Care students have just come back from an incredible trip to Bali with The Turing Scheme. Here they visited a care home, maternity ward, and had team building experiences that have given their skills and confidence a real boost. As well as amazing overseas opportunities, our Health and Social Care students have also competed in WorldSkills competitions, with winners being given the chance to join the WorldSkills International Training and Development Programme.

4. Tutors

Our tutors have real life experience of working in healthcare. This experience means they are fully equipped for teaching our students all the skills they need to know, as well as for answering all their industry-related questions. They all know how to put the six Cs of Care into practice and consistently support our students in developing their own skills in these areas; Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, Commitment.
