Open Days at The Sheffield College
Updated: 12.10.26
It’s nearly time for our General Open Days here at The Sheffield College. Over the next few months, you can come along to one of our Open Days to find out more about becoming a student here.
This year, our Open Days are taking place on:
Each of our General Open Days will take place at City Campus, Hillsborough Campus, and our Advanced Technology Centre.
We have plenty of possibilities for you to kick-start your career path, whether you want to take part in a study programme, or try something more hands on like an Apprenticeship.
Here’s what you can expect when you come to one of our General Open Days.
Pick up a brand-new guide for school leavers
This year, our school leavers guide has had a makeover to make it easier to keep hold of throughout your application journey. You’ll collect different cards throughout the year and add them to your College Collectables lanyard so that you can personalise the information you need. When you hand this in at enrolment, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win one of three study packs, including a Chromebook!
During Open Day, you’ll be able to collect Sector Cards to help you figure out which areas of the college to visit. We will also have Spot Prize cards hidden across our campuses. Find one and you’ll win an instant prize when you hand it in.
Take part in challenges and taster activities
When you’ve collected your Sector Cards, head to your curriculum area to find out more about your chosen area. Here, you’ll be given the opportunity to take part in taster activities and challenges to give you a sense of the sorts of things you’ll get to do here at The Sheffield College. Win the challenges to get put onto our leaderboard. Top the leaderboard to get invited back to our finals during our Campus Open Days to play for the top prize.
Get more information about our different study options
We’ll have staff on-hand to answer questions about all of our study options. This could be a vocational, full-time study programme, a T Level, A Levels, or an Apprenticeship. Our teams will help you figure out which option will suit you, your strengths, and your ambitions the most.
Meet our tutors and students
Our tutors will be available, ready to talk you through your chosen sector. Ask them about the sort of work you’ll be doing, the placement opportunities, entry requirements, and anything else you’d like to know before applying. Our tutors will show you all the amazing things about studying within their sector here at The Sheffield College.
You’ll also get the opportunity to meet some of our current students. They’ll be able to show you the projects they’ve been working on, and give you first-hand information about what it’s like to be a student here.
