About this Course

Please note that this course does not teach coding, it covers coding practices only. This qualification is designed for learners who want to increase their knowledge, skills and understanding of coding. It will familiarise you with the skills needed to work in the digital sector. Successful completion of the course will allow the learner to develop in-depth knowledge, skills and understanding of coding practices

Key Units

The IT and web development sector is growing rapidly, as almost all businesses now have some form of online presence. 
Coding is used to build websites, mobile apps and other computer software, so having an understanding of coding, how it is implemented, and the importance of software testing is crucial for anyone working in an IT or digital role. 

The Level 3 Coding Practices is designed to allow you to build your exisitng knowledge and skills of coding, and developing your skills to work in the digital sector.
In completing this course, you will achieve a nationally recognised, Level 3 qualification. Be able to evidence your competency to employers, and develop your personal and professional skills.

This course will cover the following:

  • Coding requirements and planning
  • Understanding coding design
  • Implementation of coding
  • Software testing
  • Understand deployment, maintenance and configuration

Entry Requirements

GCSE Maths and English at a minimum of Grade 4 or Level 2 equivalent qualifications
You will need prior knowledge and understanding of the principles of coding.

Assessment

Submission of online assignments, marked by experienced, qualified assessors.

Where does this Lead

This course is ideal progression from the Level 2 Coding.
On completion of the course, progression would by to HND Digital Technologies or to university study.

There will be initial assessment and advice and guidance interview prior to enrolment, to ensure this is the most appropriate course for you

The cost for learners not eligible for funding is £941.
