Courses
The qualification is delivered over 4 weeks and has been designed to give an understanding of what counselling is and consider the skills and qualities required to be a counsellor. Each session will last for 2 hours and is an ideal starting point for anyone interested in considering a potential career in counselling or other helping roles.
This counselling Level 2 qualification aims to introduce learners to the use of helping skills in everyday life and work. On successful completion you could progress onto Level 3 or it may improve your employment prospects particularly in the care and voluntary sectors.
The Level 3 Certificate in counselling provides knowledge and understanding of the main core theories and theorists that underpin counselling and addresses the nature of psychological problems and how they may be approached. The specialist skills and knowledge gained in this qualification will be applicable in a range of working contexts. It will enable learners to understand the need for a firm grasp of a coherent theoretical approach to counselling or supporting others.
Potential students will learn from a mixture of theory and practical throughout the course to build upon their current understanding and knowledge of counselling practice and self-awareness. Students will be assessed through a combination of written exams and assignments, some of which are based on counselling scenarios, and 100 hours of supervised counselling placement working with clients on a 1-1 basis in an approved counselling service.
