The broad purpose of the occupation is working with building materials (most often wood) to create and install building components. This typically involves shaping and cutting materials, installing finished materials like partitions, doors, staircases, window frames, mouldings, timber floor coverings and erecting structural components such as floor joists and roofs. All work needs to be carried out safely, using the appropriate tools and to the quality specified.
This course is for recent entrants to the sector, as well as existing employees, to progress in their career in bricklaying. Join us at City Campus to develop the practical skills and technical knowledge required to work in the Construction Industry as a bricklayer.
During this 2-year programme, students will develop the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a career in brickwork. In blended-learning classroom sessions, students will explore manufacturing, fitting, hand skills, health and safety, principles of building, so you’re completely ready for work on a construction site in brickwork.
The Core Construction Skills (Brickwork) programme is designed to prepare people to enter the construction industry as bricklayers. This programme will give you a thorough grounding in the practical aspects of bricklaying, enabling you the opportunity to progress to a trade Diploma upon successful completion.
This Level 2 Bricklaying progression study programme is designed to give you the industry recognised skills required for a career as a brciklayer. This course will further develop your skills in the practical aspects of bricklaying, enabling you to progress into employment upon successful completion.
